Achyut Patwardan School (APS) has been providing educational opportunities to needy communities for over 60 years. The students mostly come from the surrounding villages of Sarai Mohana, Kotwa and a few other villages. The school educates children from nursery to Class VIII in line with UP Board curriculum.  A little over 50% of the students are girls. The school is intent on creating an environment free of fear that can engender lasting relationships. In terms of infrastructure, the school has sprawling library facility, computer room and a complaint hygiene facilities. The study centre is based on the vision of J. Krishnamurti and inspired by the statements he made about his teachings. His wish was to bring about centres where people could go and stay to study the teachings without any organised programmes, and with only their own seriousness to guide them. Set in places of natural beauty and serenity, the study centres provide an environment conducive for studying and reflecting upon existential questions which Krishnamurti raised in his talks, writings and dialogues.The study centre runs on donations that contribute to running the facilities, hosting the dialogues, dissemination activities and operational costs. At present, we are working on renovating the cottages where guests stay during their visits to the Centre. We also depend on donations to a considerable extent to host gatherings and dialogue meetings.
